Ayurverdic Massages
Ayurvedic Massage is the “science of longevity”, an ancient healing practice developed in India. Using soothing strokes and special oils, your therapist will detoxify, balance the system and open the energy channels. You will be asked several pointed questions to help determine your personal constitution and “Dosha”.
Champi Therapy This therapy focuses primarily on the arms, neck, scalp and face using aromatherapy oils, although the back is also addressed. The ancients believed that the body has seven “chakras”, which they described as energy centers or wheels of energy. Champi is said to liberate and rebalance these centers as it allows your mind to send signals to parts of your body where a chakra may be blocked.
Shirodhara (Third Eye Therapy) The word shirodhara can be broken down into the words “head” and “flow”. After receiving a relaxing back massage to prepare you for this sublime therapy, a soothing stream of warm scented oil will be poured onto the centre of the forehead or the “third eye.” Not only does this treatment calm and harmonizes the entire nervous system, it has also been shown to synchronize brain waves and coordinate mind and body.
Abhyanga (Four Hands Therapy) A unique herbal oil massage given in tandem by two therapists working as one. Besides deeply moisturizing the skin, stimulating circulation, soothing the muscles and lubricating the joints, this double massage has the added benefit of promoting balance between the left and right hemispheres of the brain. It is a treatment that enhances the immune system, relives aches and pains dramatically and assists in the detoxification of the blood, lymph and muscle tissues. With its synergetic motions, this treatment leaves one feeling balanced and utterly relaxed.
